Your Wedding

As your Wedding Officiant, I am honoured to spend a great deal of time helping you to prepare your wedding ceremony.  Your needs as a couple will determine which of my services will best suit your desires. Feel free to discuss any questions you have, as I am a very easy-going, flexible and down-to-earth person. My mission is to help you create your perfect day!

What is a Non-Denominational Ceremony?

A non-denominational ceremony is a ceremony that has a spiritual orientation rather than a basis in one particular religious denomination. Specific rituals, traditions and prayers may be discussed and included at your request.

Personalized Ceremony:

The difference between a good ceremony and a great ceremony is in the planning, coordination and execution.  the feeling you and your guests experience is something I hold in high regard.  It is my intention to create a 20 to 30 minute ceremony that will leave a lasting impression with you and your very special hand-selected guests.  The personalized ceremony includes an informal ‘get to know you’ meeting either in person, on the phone or by Skype, so you can decide if our personalities and energies match, and if I am the right officiant for you.  This type of ceremony also includes a consultation 4 – 6 weeks prior to the date of the wedding, which can also be done in person, on the phone or by Skype.  Of course, it is my favourite choice to meet in person if at all possible as I believe there is something very special about a face-to-face connection.  I also feel that meeting in person helps me to capture the essence of you as a couple, and it helps you to feel more comfortable with me; the person standing beside you for one of the most important days of your life!

The Creation Process:  The personalized ceremony also includes a template that I have created and tweaked over the years, that captures the meaning of a heart-centered marriage.  My template provides a lot of variety when choosing what reflects your wants and beliefs as individuals, as a couple and in some cases as a family.  The most wonderful aspect of this ceremony is the ‘secret’ questionnaire.  This piece helps me get to know you and connect with you on a deeper level, so that I can personalize the wording and bring a different level of intimacy, warmth and surprise to your once in a life time day!

You will also receive many ideas for readings, options like the rose, wine pouring, candle lighting, sand ceremony for either the couple or family, hand fasting, love box, family vows and gift presentation and ring warming.  Specific rituals, traditions and prayers may be included at your request.  You will also receive instructions on how and when to purchase your marriage license, and many more ideas to make your wedding ceremony unique and special.

If your desire is to create a ceremony that will not only be a truly inspiring experience for you and your guests, but will be remembered and talked about long after the last dance, then the personalized ceremony is meant just for you!

Classic Ceremony:

This beautiful and meaningful  20 minute ceremony is for those who also want to leave a lasting impression with their guests, they just don’t need to have the ceremony personalized to them as a couple.  (Everything as outlined above in the personalized ceremony is also included EXCEPT THE QUESTIONNAIRE).   This uniquely written ceremony includes an informal ‘get to know you’ meeting either in person, on the phone or by skype, so you can decide if I am the right officiant to preside over your ceremony.  It also includes a consultation 4 – 6 weeks prior to the ceremony, which can be done either in-person, over the phone or by Skype.  Again, as I have outlined above, it is my favourite choice to meet in person if at all possible as there is something very special about a face-to-face connection.

“Make It Legal”:

If you have chosen a sunny destination to get married, like Mexico, Punta Cana or Cuba, you will be required to provide a Marriage Record proving that you are legally married before your symbolic wedding.  All you have to do is purchase your marriage license! With two witnesses present, and I will either come to your home, or we can arrange to meet at a mutually convenient location to sign the papers and pronounce you married!

If you would like something a little more elaborate; maybe some guests present who are not able to travel to your symbolic wedding due to health issues or conflicts in schedules, I can perform a short 5 -10 minute intimate and meaningful ceremony to make this a memorable experience for both you and your small handful of guests.

When communicating with me regarding the ‘Make it Legal’ ceremony, please be sure to indicate whether it will just be signing the papers, or you are having an actual ceremony so I can provide you with exactly what you want.

For the Personalized and Classic ceremony, a non-refundable deposit of $200 (includes HST), is due upon receipt of your confirmation letter. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to the ceremony, or at the wedding consultation.
